Today started off with a bang – thunder that is! The wind and rain came next. We had a thunder storm, and then it started to clear off. Seemed strange to look out on the beach and see no one!!!! At least people had enough sense to stay away from the water during a thunder storm.
The rain stopped around noon, but we had decided to go to the Freshfield’s Village. We went to the grocery store and the post office! Everyone must have had the same idea as we did – the store was busy!
We ended up sitting on the deck this afternoon for a while. We saw a doe and her fawn down in the dunes. They blend in so well with the surroundings that most of the people walking to the beach didn’t even notice them. Those that did – stopped, watched, and appeared to be in disbelief – a deer at the beach???????
So far it has been another day of rest and relaxation – we are not going to want to go back home to mowing the grass, doing laundry, cleaning house, etc.!!!!!! Oh well, we all have to go back sometime. We are just so thankful to be able to come and enjoy these two weeks. We thank God daily!
I’m getting an early start on the journal today so I will probably finish later!

I’m back to add more! We just ate our supper outside on the deck. We had to stand guard over our trays because we had the sea gulls back for another attack! Fortunately, we were able to shoo them away so we were able to eat without them being too much of a pest. They did fly over continuously as we were eating, but they were high enough to where they were out of our way.
So far this evening has turned out to be beautiful – hopefully tomorrow will be more of the same with no thunder storms! We had another red sky tonight – so we just might have that pretty day tomorrow.
We just looked at the pictures we took today – quite a few. Bill took several this morning of the
rain dripping on the railing on the deck. Unbelievable at how pretty they turned out. The pictures of the deer turned out something not that noticeable from far way. The fawn still had its spots!!!! It looked like Bambi! The doe was wearing a collar and had a yellow tag with the number 24 attached to its ear. We think they have tagged the deer and are watching it and recording where it goes and as Bill says to make sure it is still alive!
