Laurie - John's True Love

Friday - August 14, 2009

Happy Birthday Laurie!!!!!! Many years ago you became the true love of John. It was you who helped him overcome so many things that had come his way. It was your love that gave him the will to carry on even though he felt as if he would never be able to hold his head above water. When the two of you married, you gave Mom and Dad their first granddaughter - Dawn; and me my first niece! Then as the years seem to pass us by, JD and Lindsay joined the family!!! Even though you and John didn't make it back to WV that often, you know that we loved you and the kids very much!!!!! I wanted to share some pictures of you since you became a Layne!!! Through modern technology, I was able to get some updated ones from the girls! :):) I hope and pray you have a great birthday and know that we love you!!!!

Mr. and Mrs. John P. Layne!

Your first Christmas here in WV at Mammaw and Pappaw's!

One of the few times John and I were together on our birthday - January 22, 1989! . . . and I cooked the birthday dinner! :):):):) Hope you don't have to cook yours!
You and John during your early years!!!!

I think Pappaw took this - he was always taking pictures - looks like he just got your attention and then flash - here comes the picture! He loved that PolaroidYour three beautiful and handsome children - JD, Dawn, and Lindsay!

Laurie, Dawn, and Brooke Irene

Here you are at an Indians game with JD and family! I'd say Darcie is taking the picture

Here you are with your baby girl - Lindsay Ann!

I know when this picture was taken - but it shows the love and support you have from your family! Missing is Lindsay, Nate, Jenna, and Allie G.

One of my favorite pictures I have of you and John!

Laurie, I truly hope you have a great birthday! I know Dawn sneaked in and has surprised you - she is doing just what her Dad would have loved her to do - surprise her mother on her birthday!!!! I hope you enjoy the time with the family and that they treat you well on this special day!!! We all send you our love from back here in the hills of WV!!! :):)

Sue, The love that you share for your family is very touching. We all have our ups and downs and the only thing we can do is let our loved ones know exactly how we feel and make the most of the time that we are allowed to have with them. That's what becoming a husband and father has allowed me to see. That its really all about family.

You and Bill take care. Say hey to Toby for me.

Thanks Mike. I do love my family more than words will ever tell!! (I even love Bill!!!!!):):):) As my oldest brother has always told his boys - we are family and we will love you no matter what!! We may not approve of all the things you've done, but family we are and family we will stay!!!
Treasure every moment you have with your girls because one day they will grow up and leave the nest!!!!
Toby says hey back at you!!!!! :):):)

Sue,

What a wonderful birthday present. You always have such nice surprises on your blog-I check in with it every week or so and just saw this tonight. It was such a nice treat having Dawn and Em and Alex come in-they all made sure I had a nice birthday. We all got together and went to a restaurant called 'Steak on a Stone'. Of course I got steak, but we decided that John would have got the pork chops! Give your mom a hug for me!

Love you, Laurie
