The house is so quiet - all the nieces and nephews are gone; Mom's tucked in for the night; and Speedy is down under his cover in his guard dog mode! So, I decided to write a short post about Mom!! This evening I changed the channels for Mom so she could watch her shows - sometimes it gets harder and harder for her to use the remote - she can't see the numbers that well. Before you comment about getting her a giant remote - that's the one I'm talking about! I'm also sitting here as I do most Saturday nights wondering what my "boys" are doing OW! :):) Hopefully they are behaving themselves!
Mom's eye sight is getting worse, and she is getting more frustrated as the days come and go! But, she has not stopped doing her own laundry, sweeping, mopping. cleaning dishes, and cooking certain things. She knows where everything is located - so don't come in and put it in a different place!!!!! She has slowed down on her crocheting, but was tickled when Cassie, Jamie, and Meghan all said they wanted to learn and wanted Mammaw to teach them! Jamie came by tonight and was starting to get the hang of making a chain - Mammaw gave her approval!!!!! I look for her to be hosting a crocheting party before long! :):):)
The next few days are going to be a little strenuous - Sunday because of waiting for Monday to get here so that her tooth can be pulled! Monday because her tooth will be pulled and the potential problems that may stem from that pulling!!! Some have said, "What's the big deal about having a tooth pulled?" Hmmm - logical question if you are in your teens, 20's, or even 50's! However, we are talking about someone who is 89, taking Plavix and baby aspirin, and tends to bleed profusely when barely nicked - not to mention all the other "problems" that could arise since they are putting her to sleep! Her regular dentist would not remove the tooth, but chose to send her to an oral surgeon who would be better prepared to handle any problem that could appear. This tooth has really bother Mom for about a month - so she is ready to have it yanked out!!!!!
Yes, there is going to be a tooth pulled Monday, and we would appreciate you all if you would remember Mom in your prayers. We pray that she will not have excessive bleeding, no complication from being put to sleep, and as little pain as possible during her healing process. We will need to watch her closely for the first 48 - 72 hours!
Hopefully by this time next week she will feel 100% better and will want to eat her country fried steak she loves so well!!!
Mom was a little healthier in this picture - love her in pink!!!!
Hmmmm- wonder if the tooth-fairy will read this posting???????
